The Classes
-
You don’t need any Pilates experience to get started. I recommend starting with Level 1 Pilates classes and familiarise yourself with the exercises before progressing to level 2.
-
There are 3 levels. Start at level 1 and work your way through the programs. If you would like more challenge you would progress to level 2, before progressing to level 3. Level 1 is where you will find stretch classes.
-
LBB clients love to connect to the big screen for their workouts!
If you are using a lap top you can connect to your TV by using a HDMI cable.
You can also screen share from your mobile to TV with the same Wi-Fi network. Turn on the screen mirroring/screencast on the TV.
-
Please consult your doctor or health care provider prior to starting this program. Please contact me so that I can recommend the appropriate classes for you. Keep in mind, I am not a medical professional and I do not know your personal conditions.
-
You can select classes with or without equipment. If you don’t want to use equipment, that’s fine. However classes can be intensified by using equipment.
-
You can choose from classes with the following equipment – Theraband, loop band, hand weights, ankle weights, sliders, pilates ball and foam roller.
Weights – I recommend starting with light weights this could be tin food from your pantry just make sure both tins are the same weight, then progressing to 1- 2 kg weights.
Ankle weights - Are optional in some classes, Keep in mind if you don’t have access to ankle weights you can still gain benefits from completing the class without them.
Pilates ball/Chi Ball – For most exercises with the pilates ball I will only fill my ball up with half the amount of air. If you don’t have access to a ball you can use a cushion.
Foam Roller – I use a foam roller 90cm in length, which is the length I recommend for classes.
Theraband / Loop Bands/ Sliders/ Fit ball - These items can be found online or in Kmart or Big W in the fitness section. You can also tie a knot in a theraband to make the shape of a loop band.
-
If something feels unsafe for your body please stop and skip to the next exercise.
Exercises that are difficult one day may not always feel that way.
Exercises that are normally easy might sometimes feel really challenging.
If you have missed a day or two, don’t feel guilty! It happens, take care and look after yourself.
